My first recipe: Vegetable Noodles

For anyone who follows me on TikTok or Instagram (both @Mysticismlover), you may have seen me post short clips of dishes I make. Now, I'm no chef, but apparently some of you were intrigued by my dishes! So here it is, my quick recipe for vegetable noodles!

Things you'll need:

-Onions
-Mushrooms
-Asparagus
-Baby Sprouts
-Broccoli or Tenderstem Broccoli
-Corn or Baby Corn
-Peppers
-Carrots
-Sesame oil (or your preferred cooking oil)
-BBQ Spice (or your preferred spice -e.g. paprika)
-Black Bean Garlic Stir Fry Sauce (or any sauce you like e.g. teriyaki)
-Noodles (I use the ones that don't require boiling and need 4-5 minutes in the wok)
-A wok, or a large frying pan, non sticky
Ps. You can also add meat, seafood or tofu if you would like to!

TIP ➔ When it comes to quantities and portions, it's all relative to how many people you're cooking for, or how hungry you are! I'd say try to not put that many ingredients that you can't taste or see the noodles any more!

Cooking time!

  1. Chop chop! Chop your vegetables!

TIP ➔ Try to chop your 'long' vegetables in thin stripes (e.g. asparagus, baby corn, carrots e.t.c.). That way they're cooked faster and they blend really nicely with your noodles, whilst still adding different textures. Plus, the result is so visually pleasing!

  2. Turn your hob on (avoid the highest settings). Place the wok/frying pan on top and once it starts warming up a bit, put the vegetables that take longer to cook (e.g. asparagus, baby corn, broccoli), or the frozen vegetables -if you're using any- first. If there's no frozen vegetables add a little bit of water. Stir slowly.
  3. Once these vegetables start being softer, put the rest of the vegetables in the wok and add the oil of your choice. If I'm cooking for myself, I use 2 tablespoons of oil. Stir slowly.
  4. A couple of minutes later add your spice(s). Stir a bit faster.
  5. Now that all is blended, time for your noodles! Make sure to break them apart a little bit before putting them in the wok/frying pan.
  6. Then, finally, we can get saucy! Poor that sauce on top of the noodles and stir stir stir!!!

TIP ➔ A little sauce can go a long way and you can always top it up if you feel you need more, so avoid using too much.

  7. After you stir for a few minutes and all looks blended and cooked, it's time to turn the hob off and serve the noodles! Let them sit for a few minutes before you start eating them, otherwise they'll be too hot.

That's it! You made it!

Enjoy your meal! ^_^

Lime Crime

Why do influencers still support Lime Crime? I've never seen a more controversial makeup brand and I'm sincerely curious. It keeps on popping on my suggestions even though I've never liked an image or a post relevant to their products. I also do not buy from retailers who stock their products and don't follow anyone who supports the brand. So, why does it keep popping on my feed? For anyone who doesn't know, a few reasons why you should think twice before you support them:
-They didn't renew their security and left their website vulnerable.
-There was a data breach due to that fact and thousands of people had their details stolen (some even fell victims of identity theft or had their bank accounts compromised -one person had up to 10k stolen).
-They didn't tell their customers until months later.
-The owner threatened, blocked or sued anyone who has criticised the brand.
-There was a huge scandal about them claiming they're vegan and cruelty free when some of their ingredients weren't (they decided to remove those ingredients from their list, but not from their products).
-There were unidentified ingredients in their products. And the FDA had to step in.
-The owner dressed up as Hitler for Halloween.
-The owner had scammed people before creating Lime Crime by faking she'd gather money and donate it to an animal shelter.
-Lime Crime has been accused of repackaging products.
-Some of their products had mold/rust in them.
-The owner has insulted her customers multiple times -publicly.

Cruelty free makeup in Europe

Please remember that you don't have to be vegan/vegetarian to go cruelty free on your makeup.
I know that most of the major companies test on animals and it can be hard to find cruelty free companies that work for you and your budget, but animals are being tortured daily for no reason. In 2017 there is absolutely no need to test on animals.
But unfortunately, China forces any brand that wants to sell beauty/skincare products there to test on animals. And since China is a huge market and companies are greedy, they sell there and test on animals.
The more of us go cruelty free, the more affordable and available cruelty free makeup will be.
Of course you can't be perfect all the time and you may make mistakes along the way as it's impossible to always know if a brand is cruelty free or not. But making the effort to find out and not supporting brands that you know test on animals is a huge step forward!
I understand that in some countries it may be harder to find cruelty free makeup than in others, but if you look into it there are options!
Here are some cruelty free brands available in Europe:
-Gosh
-B.
-Collection
-Sleek
-Makeup Revolution (Revolution Pro & iHeart Revolution)
-Neve
-Caked Cosmetics
-Nyx
-Urban Decay
-Milani
-LA Girl
-OCC
-Gerard Cosmetics
-LA Splash
-Sugarpill Cosmetics
-Kat Von D Cosmetics
-Jeffree Star Cosmetics
-The Balm
-Korres
-MUA
-Elf
-Golden Rose
-Barry M.
-The Body Shop
- Pixi
-Anastasia Beverly Hills
-Too Faced
-Eco Tools
-Real Techniques

Dear anti-vegans

So a couple of days ago I saw someone sharing an article that basically says:
"I eat meat and I don't feel guilty about it because being vegan doesn't make a difference."

Well well, look at how people are trying to get rid of their guilty conscious...

Fun fact, my comments were deleted because the person who posted the article had no argument against mine. Just trying to cover up for their guilt and get justification from other meat eaters with guilty conscious.

The article went on to attack vegans, as if vegans are humanity and environment's enemy.

Guess again: Wrong.

Vegans for the biggest part are a lot more eco-friendly and eco-conscious than most of us.
They care about ethical consumerism in all products.

The article said because rainforests are destroyed vegans are contributing to that due to their consumption.

First of all, if you buy ethically produced products and avoid palm oil (or unethically produced one), you have good chances of not contributing to rainforest destruction.

Secondly, we know that it's hard to be 100% eco-friendly. It's very very hard if not impossible (especially in big cities).

I've never seen a vegan make such a statement anyway.

I don't get why vegans are targeted by meat eaters, when it's so fucking obvious that when you eat meat you actually have contributed to animals' deaths (and possibly torture).

If you're vegan or vegetarian, at least you don't eat corpses, so you didn't contribute to the death of those said animals.

And that's a pretty big deal to me.

To say that you love animals, but then eat them... isn't that hypocrisy? Unless you support speciesism (which means you discriminate towards certain species).

If you really care about the environment and animals, maybe you should get a lesson or two from vegans instead of attacking them. Vegans aren't the fucking enemy. Those who torture animals and fuck up the environment and the ecosystem are.
Know your enemies and don't be manipulated sheep turning against people who aren't to be blamed.

If you want to eat meat, fine. But don't pretend you're not contributing to animal murder (and possibly torture). Admit you don't give a fuck and enjoy your steak.

I personally don't attack people for eating meat, regardless of my disagreement to it. It's your choice and you have to live with it. But don't bullshit me. If you don't feel guilty good for you.
However, if you feel guilty and try to justify your actions by making stupid and illogical excuses I ain't tolerating that crap.
You can lie to yourself, but keep it to yourself and don't attack us who don't eat meat.
Spewing all those lies that not eating meat doesn't make a difference. Of course it makes a fucking difference. Google it and see how many animals are saved per year by one person being vegan/vegetarian.

Bottom line is, do whatever the fuck you want to do and leave other people alone.

If you want to save the environment be an ethical consumer. If you don't care don't be.

Do you and let others do them.

Peace.

46 days without meat and counting

Wow! I never thought I could make it this far! I'm very very surprised. I'm also very happy I quitted eating meat.
I still eat fish and seafood, but I will eventually stop eating those as well.
So how have these 46 days been for me?
Weird!
Sometimes I do feel tired and dizzy -but I don't know if this has to do with me not eating meat- so I'm taking neurobion (b2, b6, b12) and omega 3 vitamins. I guess I got to buy meat substitutes as well soon. I shall go veggie shopping this week and update this post!
I have been eating vegetables (daily), fish (1-2 times a week), seafood (once every 2 weeks at least), fruit (once every 10 days -I know I should eat more often, but I don't like fruit that much), rice (3-4 times a month), legumes (4-5 times a month), pasta (6-7 times a month) and I tried soya meat a couple of times as well (it was very nice!). Moreover I drink loads of water and even though I know I shouldn't I drink at least 500ml of lipton ice tea a day. I also reduced the amount of salt I was eating (it was salt with food, not food with salt) -however I had a little relapse these days, but I'm working on it!!!

Eating healthier, trying to control what you consume and what kind of products you use in general are huge steps into changing your lifestyle. You will feel better believe me. You could just try for 10 days and then decide what works better for you. However the way we're brought up eating artificial and junk food, breathing car fumes, living in polluted cities it's like we haven't been given the choice to lead a healthy lifestyle. So create the choice for yourself!

Update: 23/3/2014 It's been one year and a week and I feel great! I do eat fish sometimes though :) Research and believe me you will realise meat isn't needed in our lives ^_^ As a vegan bodybuilder said "put life in you not death." However, everyone is free to make their own choices.

Update: 4/2/2017 It's been almost for years that I quit eating meat and over 3 years that I quit eating fish, and a year since I started trying to be more eco-friendly.
Feeling good!

Peace

Seven days without meat and counting. . .

I don't know something has changed lately. I have changed.
It's not the documentaries, the articles, the campaigns that convinced me.
It's just my brain telling me I was so stupid, cruel and ignorant all these years.
Now I realised why PETA and people who support animal rights post all these cruel videos.
The reason is people don't get it otherwise!
They need to see pure violence and bloodbaths to understand what's going on.
As a hemophobic I keep my distance from the sight of blood.
However I suggest you watch the documentaries and posts of vegans and supporters of animal rights.
You will realise you are the problem.
We are the problem; and millions of animals suffer cruel deaths and torture because of us every day.
There is high demand. If there was no demand, animals would be free. And we would be humans.
I consider utterly hypocritical saying you love animals, and then eating them. Unless you got the balls to kill the animal with your own hands, paying respect to the life you took to eat, do not eat meat.
Going to fast food restaurants has destroyed us all. We are going to a place where selling dead bodies of tortured animals is legal. We eat them. I can't believe I hadn't realised this all these years!

I need good karma in my life and positive energy. Consuming meat coming from a tortured soul isn't good energy for sure. Have you ever wondered about the quality of life of the animals you eat?
Why do we let a mere desire -as I consider liking the taste of meat to be- to control our lives?
People say 'I like it". Well, pedophiles like raping little children is that right? NO. So, why can't we control ourselves and behave? Are humans so weak?
I got so many questions about being vegan and vegeterian! Where can you buy food? Is it true that you need meat to survive? Is it natural for humans to be carnivores (because everyone's argument for eating meat is that our teeth are designed for it)? Do you need supplements or vitamins once you stop eating meat? Is it true that the toxines found in meat are the cause of bowel Cancer? I will start researching soon, and I hope to be strong and stay away from meat for ever or for as long as possible.
